Step 4. Nonstandard element.
Nonstandard elements not available in any of the libraries can be inserted into
the drawing in the form of lines and other AutoCAD primitives; the designer can
optionally define parameters and even connecting fittings for these custom objects
using the "nonstandard element" command (Figure 4.). The shape and elevation of
each fitting can be freely defined, so the program can automatically determine the
position of any further elements joined to the nonstandard element.

Nonstandard elements are shown not only in the list of elements, but also on the drawing
as fully functional Ventpack objects, meaning that other elements can be automatically connected,
preserving continuity of the installation. It is also possible to define hydraulic
properties for nonstandard elements, provided that the type of element and values or
coefficients of local resistance for each connector are determined.
This allows nonstandard elements to be included in the pressure loss analysis.
